18 Month Pictures

We had Addison's 18 month pictures made this morning. She definitely knows how to make the photographer work for their money. She is not a big fan of strangers, so it usually takes a lot of tickling and silliness to get a smile out of her. Thankfully this photographer was patient and good with children.
Her big blue eyes showed up well in this one.
She looks like she's afraid she is going to get in trouble if she touches the flowers. :=)
I call this her mischievious look. She created her own pose for this one. Too cute!
Pretty girl. She requested a bow in her hair for her pictures.

This was the very first picture that was taken today and it is my favorite.

She wasn't a big fan of being on her tummy, but the picture turned out cute!

Addison continues to amaze me with the new things she can do on a weekly basis. Her speech/language has exploded in the past month and she is saying so much. She makes simple requests (juice, snack, play), names objects (moon, baby, car, block, cup, seat), makes sounds (choo choo, moo, meow, growl, dong--clock) and comments (up, out, down). She will imitate just about anything she hears and is attempting to put two words together. My favorite two word combinations are "hold me" and "love you". She is very active all the time. If she is ever still or quiet, she is either very sleepy or into something she shouldn't be. She walks, runs, and is trying to jump recently. She can climb the stairs and slide down on her bottom although she prefers to be carried down the stairs. She is a climber and loves to climb up into my chair at the table and eat her snack in a big chair. Addison continues to love books. She is very particular about who reads to her. If she brings a book to someone, that is the person who must read the book. There is no changing her mind either. She loves picture books and will sit in my lap for 20-30 minutes pointing to pictures for me to name or naming the pictures herself. She loves to play with anything including "boy toys". She loves crawling around on her knees pushing cars and loves action figures too. She has her share of baby dolls and loves to push them in a stroller. She is great with a shape sorter and puzzles too. The girl loves outside and would play outside in 30 degree weather in the rain if I would let her. Our biggest challenge right now is separation anxiety. She still struggles to stay in the nursery at church although we have made progress over the past month or so. Each Sunday she has stayed at least an hour and has made it through the entire service a couple of times. When we go to pick her up, she has red eyes and tear stain down her cheeks, but she doesn't scream the whole time. :-)

Addison is such a sweet, personable little girl. She gives great kisses, nose rubs, hugs and head butts. She has the best smile and laugh that will melt your heart. She will wrinkle up her nose and wink although she has been "winking" with two eyes lately. Addison has her daddy and I wrapped around her little finger . . . and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Our Little Minnie

A bare-footed Minnie Mouse. I'm surprised she sat still long enough for me to snap the picture.

Cheese!

Enough pictures mommy! Let's go.

She's got her eyes on something. Here comes trouble.

Minnie and Daddy with her Halloween gift from Granna and Papaw--Snoopy from The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

This year Addison was Minnie Mouse for Halloween. Instead of trick or treating, we visited with each set of grandparents for a little while and then went out to dinner. It was a fun family night for us. We will try trick or treating next year. Maybe I'll let her have candy by then. :-)

What a Difference a Year Makes

This is a picture of Addison in October 2008 when she was about 6 weeks old. We had to prop her up between the pumpkins to keep her sitting up. Look mommy--A pumpkin This pumpkin smells good!

Lots of pumpkins and lots of pictures--I'm getting bored.

A good one to end on!
These are pictures from this year. It amazes me that my sweet baby is so big already. She enjoyed sitting with all the pumpkins around her. She is still carrying the little one around in her riding toy.

13 Months

These are pictures taken of Addison on October 12, 2009 on her 13 month "birthday". Although I want to keep taking these pictures of her on the 12th of every month, it's becoming more challenging since she is so busy. She doesn't like to sit long and isn't afraid to just stand up and walk out of the chair. I see many ER visits in our future! :-)

We Now Return to the Days of Our Lives

Sorry for the two month break from blogging. Life has been crazy the last couple of months and my blog has not been at the top of the priority list. However, I now have a wireless network at home and new Creative Memories Storybook Maker software, so I have a feeling I will be motivated to spend more time playing with pictures. I'll try to catch up on the last two months soon.

Twelve Months

It's so very had to believe that the 4 pound, 14 ounce baby who we welcomed into the world on September 12, 2008 is now a walking, talking almost 20 pound toddler. Our lives have changed so much but I can honestly say these last 12 months have been full of love and laughter like we have never experienced before. We are truly thankful to the Lord above for blessing us with our sweet angel. Our prayer is that He continues to bless her with good health and that energetic spirit we all enjoy as He continues to guide us as we strive to raise a happy little girl who loves the Lord. We look forward to what each new month brings as Addison continues to grow and change so quickly. Thank you for joining us on this adventure!

Addison's First Birthday Party

A Pooh Birthday Cake

Addison's little birthday cake

On Saturday, September 12, 2009, we celebrated Addison's first birthday with a party at our community clubhouse. We had a wonderful gathering of family and friends there to help us celebrate. There was lots of good food and fellowship. We are so thankful to all of you who came to help us celebrate and most of all for the blessing of our sweet Addison.

Getting Ready to Enjoy Her Cake

She was a little timid at first because she wasn't familiar with cake.

But soon she was getting into it.

We're still working on table manners and using eating utensils, but she was enjoying it.
The aftermath--can you believe that her clothes and bib came clean!

Checking out the presents
That stack of presents is taller than she is.
Opening presents with a little help from mommy.
Her popper toy was her favorite at the party, but she has had so much fun with all of them today at home.
Sharing her toys with her cousin, Christian.
