18 Month Pictures

We had Addison's 18 month pictures made this morning. She definitely knows how to make the photographer work for their money. She is not a big fan of strangers, so it usually takes a lot of tickling and silliness to get a smile out of her. Thankfully this photographer was patient and good with children.
Her big blue eyes showed up well in this one.
She looks like she's afraid she is going to get in trouble if she touches the flowers. :=)
I call this her mischievious look. She created her own pose for this one. Too cute!
Pretty girl. She requested a bow in her hair for her pictures.

This was the very first picture that was taken today and it is my favorite.

She wasn't a big fan of being on her tummy, but the picture turned out cute!

Addison continues to amaze me with the new things she can do on a weekly basis. Her speech/language has exploded in the past month and she is saying so much. She makes simple requests (juice, snack, play), names objects (moon, baby, car, block, cup, seat), makes sounds (choo choo, moo, meow, growl, dong--clock) and comments (up, out, down). She will imitate just about anything she hears and is attempting to put two words together. My favorite two word combinations are "hold me" and "love you". She is very active all the time. If she is ever still or quiet, she is either very sleepy or into something she shouldn't be. She walks, runs, and is trying to jump recently. She can climb the stairs and slide down on her bottom although she prefers to be carried down the stairs. She is a climber and loves to climb up into my chair at the table and eat her snack in a big chair. Addison continues to love books. She is very particular about who reads to her. If she brings a book to someone, that is the person who must read the book. There is no changing her mind either. She loves picture books and will sit in my lap for 20-30 minutes pointing to pictures for me to name or naming the pictures herself. She loves to play with anything including "boy toys". She loves crawling around on her knees pushing cars and loves action figures too. She has her share of baby dolls and loves to push them in a stroller. She is great with a shape sorter and puzzles too. The girl loves outside and would play outside in 30 degree weather in the rain if I would let her. Our biggest challenge right now is separation anxiety. She still struggles to stay in the nursery at church although we have made progress over the past month or so. Each Sunday she has stayed at least an hour and has made it through the entire service a couple of times. When we go to pick her up, she has red eyes and tear stain down her cheeks, but she doesn't scream the whole time. :-)

Addison is such a sweet, personable little girl. She gives great kisses, nose rubs, hugs and head butts. She has the best smile and laugh that will melt your heart. She will wrinkle up her nose and wink although she has been "winking" with two eyes lately. Addison has her daddy and I wrapped around her little finger . . . and I wouldn't want it any other way!
